Investing In Gold?

If gold is supposed to be such a great investment right now, why is everybody and his brother on TV trying to sell it? Seems to me they should be quietly trying to buy up more. If the price of gold has gone up four-fold, maybe the profit has already been made, and they are trying to unload their stash to some unenlightened dupe. Just something to think about before you succumb to the slick sales pitch, and part with your hard earned dollars.
